There are some people who don’t just join a club
they season it.
Mike brought a little Louisiana wherever he went.
A little spice, a good story,
an appreciation for the wild places
and the gathered table.
He understood that fellowship is built the way a Cajun feast is built
you bring what you have,
you stir it together,
and you make sure nobody leaves hungry.
He showed up that way in Rotary.
Not for applause.
Not for attention.
But because service mattered to him.
Because people mattered to him.
We feel the space he leaves behind.
It sits quietly among us.
But so does his influence.
In every project he helped complete.
In every laugh he sparked.
In every hand he offered.
A life like Mike’s doesn’t disappear.
It lingers like good spice in the pot
warming what remains.
So we honor him the best way we can.
We show up.
We serve well.
We keep a seat open in our hearts.
And we carry his light forward.
